“Back To School Up To 5% Cash Rebate” Terms and Conditions
1. The promotion period is from 5 July to 30 September 2024, both dates inclusive (the “Promotion Period”).
2. The offer is only applicable to the principal cardholders (“Cardholders”) of the credit card/ cobranded credit card (excluding Corporate Card and Business Card) (the “Eligible Cards”) issued by Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited (the “Bank”). Cardholders are required to settle the relevant payment with the Eligible Cards in order to enjoy the offer.
3. The registration period is from 5 July 9:00 am to 30 September 2024 11:59 pm. To be eligible for cash rebate (the “Cash Rebate”), eligible Cardholders must successfully register one of his/ her Eligible Cards once via the Bank’s website during the registration period and fulfill the spending requirement. Limited 500 quotas for whole promotion period and will be offered on a first-comefirst- served basis.
4. During the Promotion Period, eligible Cardholders must accumulate spending of designated amount at local bookstores / Dr. Kong / designated electrical retailers (“Designated Merchants”) and transactions are posted to credit card accounts on or before 15 October 2024 to enjoy the Cash Rebate as per the following.
- Eligible Accumulated Spending^: HK$3,000 – HK$7,999; Cash Rebate: 2%
- Eligible Accumulated Spending^: HK$8,000 or above; Cash Rebate: 5%
^Eligible Accumulated Spending will be rounded down to the nearest Hong Kong dollar, decimal places will not be included
5. Cardholders can only enjoy up to a maximum of 5% Cash Rebate. The Cash Rebate offer is inclusive of the eligible accumulated spending rebate (“Rebate”) in this offer and the basic reward under the Spending Reward Program (1 Bonus Point earned for every HK$1 spending and if converted at the rate of 0.4%, equivalent to every 250 Bonus Points converted to HK$1 Cash Rebate). Any extra rebate/ rewards of designated card types or promotion offers are also included.
6. Eligible Designated Merchants include:
I. Local bookstores: local retailers and online spending in Hong Kong Dollar transactions. The offer is not applicable to the transactions made at counters and merchants in department stores.
II. Dr. Kong: local retailers in Hong Kong Dollar transactions. The offer is not applicable to the transactions made at counters and merchants in department stores.
III. Designated electrical retailers: Include Fortress, Broadway, Chung Yuen Electrical and Apple Store. Local retailers and online spending in Hong Kong Dollar transactions. The offer is not applicable to the transactions made at counters and merchants in department stores.
7. Eligible Spending does not include other local and overseas retail spending , outstanding balance, cash advance, balance transfer amount, bill payment (including but not limited to tax, utilities payment and insurance payment) settled via the Bank Internet Banking / ATMs / Mobile Banking Services, all payments of all credit card charges (including but not limited to annual fees, finance charges, late charges and interests), monthly instalments for Merchant Interest-free Instalment Program, monthly Instalment for Cash / Purchase Instalment Program, autopay, recurring transactions, Octopus automatic add-value transactions (including Octopus top-up transactions via any other means), any electronic wallet/ electronic money/ electronic money transfer/ top up to a specified account (including but not limited to: PayMe, Alipay and WeChat Pay), casino chips purchases, all transactions which are unposted / unauthorized / cancelled / refunded / found to be fraudulent or any other unqualified transactions as determined by the Bank.
8. Each eligible principal card and any related supplementary card accounts will be treated as one Eligible Card account when calculating Eligible Spending and the Cash Rebate. If the same Cardholder (with the same identity document) holds more than one principal card, all Eligible Spending effected by the same Cardholder under various Eligible Card accounts will be combined for calculating Eligible Spending and the maximum Cash Rebate.
9. The Rebate for each eligible Cardholder in this offer is limited to a maximum of HK$500. The Rebate will be rounded down to the nearest dollar. The Cash Rebate below HK$1 will not be counted.
10. The Rebate will be credited to the Cardholder’s registered Eligible Card account in December 2024. If the Cardholder has registered more than once with his/ her various Eligible Credit Cards, the Rebate will be credited to the first successfully registered Eligible Card account according to the Bank’s record. The Cardholder’s Eligible Credit Card account must be valid and in good standing during the Promotion Period and the offer fulfilment period in order to be eligible to receive the Rebate.
11. The Rebate can only be applied against the outstanding credit in the relevant credit card account and cannot be withdrawn in cash nor transferred.
12. The Bank will determine the eligibility of the transactions based on the merchant codes/ transaction types defined from time to time by Visa International/ Mastercard Asia/ Pacific (Hong Kong) Limited/ UnionPay International or merchants’ acquiring banks. The Bank has the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of a transaction and reserves the right to revise the details at any time without prior notice. The Bank has no obligation to clarify which transactions are eligible for the promotion before the transactions are made.
13. Un-posted/ cancelled/ refunded transactions and transactions that are found fraudulent or eventually cancelled/ refunded will be considered as ineligible transactions. The Bank reserves the right to debit an amount equal to the Cash Rebate from the relevant Eligible Card account.
14. The Bank is not the provider of products and services. The participating merchants of the related products and services shall be solely responsible for the quality, service and the legal liability of the related products and services, for which the Bank shall have no legal liability whatsoever. Customers should contact participating merchants directly in case of any disputes about products and services.
15. The Bank reserves the right to change or terminate the offer and/ or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. In case of any disputes, the decision of the Bank shall be final and conclusive.
16. In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
General Terms and Conditions of Shanghai Commercial Bank Credit Card “Year Round Merchant Offers Program”
1. Unless otherwise specified, the promotion period (the “Promotion Period”) of Year Round Merchant Offers Program (the “Program”) is valid until 31 December 2024.
2. The Program is only applicable to the principal and supplementary card cardholders of the credit cards/co-branded credit cards/business credit cards (except RMB credit cards) (the “Designated Credit Cards”) issued by Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited (the "Bank").
3. Offers are applicable to UnionPay Dual Currency Diamond Credit Card cardholders at outlets accepting this card for payment; please check with respective merchants for details.

3. You can enjoy the offer if you:

4. You must make a Registration before making any relevant transactions, any Eligible Transactions made before Registration will not be counted. You only need to register once during the promotional period. Completion of the Registration does not guarantee the eligibility of a card, transaction(s) or a cardholder for purposes of the offer and the calculation of the extra RewardCash.
5. If you have more than one Eligible Credit Card under your name, we will include all Eligible Transactions across the various Eligible Credit Cards in calculating the extra RewardCash.

8. The total amount of extra RewardCash for the entire promotional period will be rounded up to the nearest integer.
9. The extra RewardCash under this promotion will be awarded in addition to the basic RewardCash under the RewardCash Programme that we offer.
10. If any transaction where the extra RewardCash was awarded is subsequently reversed, we may deduct the extra RewardCash from the Eligible Credit Card account without notice to you.
11. You cannot:

12. You have to keep all original sales slips or official payment records of the Eligible Transactions. In case of dispute, we may at any time ask you to submit these slips, records, or further evidence for inspection and we may keep them.

What these terms mean
19. ‘Designated Merchant’ means any shops of Broadway Photo Supply Ltd in Hong Kong and Broadway’s online shop (www.broadwaylifestyle.com).
20. ‘Eligible Credit Card’ means any Hong Kong Dollar personal primary, combined additional, separate additional credit cards or UnionPay Dual Currency Credit Cards (applicable to Hong Kong Dollar sub-account only) issued by The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Hong Kong (and its successors and assigns). If you are holding an additional credit card only and do not hold any primary credit card, such additional card is not eligible for the offer.
21. ‘Eligible Transactions’ are purchases made in Hong Kong dollars with an Eligible Credit Card with a minimum Net Spending Amount of HK$500 each at the Designated Merchant during the promotional period and posted on our system during the offer fulfilment period. If a transaction is paid by instalments, the Net Spending Amount on the whole transaction (instead of individual instalment payments) will be used to determine the Eligible Transaction. All transactions (including top-up transactions) made via e-wallets and unposted/cancelled/refunded transactions will not qualify as Eligible Transactions for this promotion.
